Alona and the villa

After a day of confusing train rides, we finally got to Florence……or rather Firenza like they call it here.  I was to call a woman named Alona from the station and she would come and pick us up to go to her villa.  I could not figure out how to use the phone, then it would not accept a credit card, then I could not hear anything.  Yuck.  I finally got ahold of Alona and we were to take a bus to go and meet her.  Jenny and I walked around for 30 minutes trying to find the dumb thing, but eventually we met up with Alona.  She came sailing up to us in a TINY little car with 2 kids.  So Jenny and I jumped in like circus clowns and we drove out of Florence.  The view was amazing, grab any Tuscan brochure and those pictures are exactly what we saw.  We curved up on a hill and there was the villa……a farmhouse type, flowers everywhere.  We have 2 little bathrooms, a kitchen, bedroom, and a dining room table with a bottle of wine already on it.  Alona thought we were a married couple when I booked the place, so when she first saw us, she was like “are you sisters?” with a different kind of look in her eye…..ha ha ha ha, we tried to get it across that we were not a lesbian couple!!  I am taking lots of pictures of the place and its view.  I have only killed a few bugs, hope there are not too many more ;)

Today we are seeing the buildings in Florence, Jenny wants to go shopping tomorrow, and then Thursday taking a tour to wine country over by Chianti.

We are REALLY wearing out……not terribly sick of each other yet, but oh so tired.  No energy, and I feel very sluggish.  On Friday we will go to Rome and that will be the last place in Italy.  Ciao!
